Clinton
Clinton Machine Company is just another small corporation that grew bigger through time. It all began in 1945 at Clinton, Michigan wherein the company was known for manufacturing gears for the tank turrets during the World War II. Don Thomas, a machinist, thought of starting a business on gasoline-driven engines right after the war and thought that this would bring him great fortune in the future. He did not fail on this since his corporation flourished in the market of outdoor tools throughout its operation. Clinton became very triumphant that it was able to pioneer vertical-shaft engines for lawn mowers and these were distributed in large quantities. Although this company became popular as principal manufacturer of engines for lawn mowers, Clinton was able to produce its own designs of chainsaws in 1952. These saws were then used for agriculture, building of home, and landscaping. Thereafter, this manufacturer was also recognized for producing engines for various outdoor devices such as garden tillers, tractors, and compressors.
